The Portal

The Course Development Portal is an ambitious project that connects several university information systems and several data sources to specified project management software, Asana. Developed in WordPress, the portal uses web form technology to display project details on dynamically created content pages. In addition, unique web form tools have been designed and developed to help manage all aspects of the course development process. These tools allow a large team of instructional designers to collaborate on projects across the team and minimize time to complete several project management tasks with tools such as:
  • determine course quality using a unique Quality Matters rubric
  • develop a project scope
  • request reviews of materials by program leadership
  • indicate when stipends should be released

Reports

Managing more than 100 projects at any one time, administrative progress reporting can be a challenge. The Course Development Portal includes automated, custom reports that are sent to various stakeholders; administration leaders, program leadership, instructional design teams and more. Sample data source and sitemap available upon request.
